Engagement Manager

Position Summary:

Engagement Manager will be responsible for managing retained search engagements, including but not limited to:

  • Partnering with client to develop Position Profile
  • Conducting in-depth research/due diligence
  • Screening/qualifying candidates
  • Planning project life-cycle deliverables
 

Performance Expectations:

1. Partnering with client to develop Position Profile:
 
Based on conversations and direction from client, assist in developing ESR detailed Position Profiles to be presented to prospective
candidates
Develop strategy and action plan for execution of engagement
  2. Conducting research/due diligence:
 
Conduct extensive research on direct competitors (locally or nationwide)
Use understanding of client company's culture and specific group/department
culture, identify parallel industries where relevant talent might be found
Leverage ESR resources and "work the phone" to identify
candidates directly/through referrals
  3. Screening/Qualifying:
 
Screen candidates to gauge qualifications, level of interest, compensation and other relevant information as specified in Position Profile.
Develop tailored “bio questions” to be answered by qualified and interested candidates
  4. Deliverable presented to client:
 
Select Short List of final candidates
Gather relevant information for candidates being presented
Develop ranking and write-ups
Develop “Scoring Grid”
  Document all information gathered during sourcing process
 

Success Patterns:

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Business acumen/high-level of interest in learning about different areas of business
  • Strong research skills
  • Project oriented, analytical
  • Solution driven
  • Very comfortable and excited about doing business over the phone
  • Excited by the idea of interfacing with senior executives at Fortune 100 companies
  • Superior communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to think outside of the box. Must be creative, resourceful, and able to execute
  • Entrepreneurial and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform under limited supervision and direction
